At Greenway Wines we know that the making of great wine starts in the vineyard, first and foremost, and pruning is key to the process. This year we decided to show you how, so join us for an action packed day in the vines and come behind the scenes to find out for yourself!
Working in collaboration with viticulturist and wine maker Jenny Bright, together we will take you through the why and when and how to prune, we'll educate on the workings of the grapevine and share with you the language of the vines. We will then let you loose in the vineyard to hone your newly found skills. Included in your vineyard tuition is your equipment (gloves, secateurs and pruning cap), a bottle of wine from the vines you have just pruned, a sumptuous vineyard fireside picnic lunch alongside a guided Greenway Wines tasting experience. You will eventually leave us with your wine and pruning kit, an entertaining and educational vineyard experience, insights on both vines and wine plus a small grapevine of your very own to nurture. Class starts 11.00am and ends around 1.30pm. Maximum of 12 students per class. Please book early! We have only 4 classes available on June 12 or 13 and on July 10 or 11.
